Porsche Enhances Taycan Range for 2025 with Larger Battery and Advanced Technology
The iconic German automaker, Porsche, has announced a series of exciting updates for its electric vehicle (EV), the Taycan, for the 2025 model year.
Starting with the battery, the standard battery for the entire Taycan lineup, including the entry-level Taycan and Taycan 4S, is now a 105kWh Performance Battery Plus. This upgrade replaces the previous 89kWh unit and provides an additional 80km (50 miles) of range, allowing the base Taycan to travel up to 677km (421 miles) on a full charge, according to Top Gear. Notably, Porsche is not increasing the base price of the EV despite this battery upgrade.
In terms of performance and driving experience, the flagship electric sedan is receiving several enhancements. The new standard battery, coupled with other improvements, is expected to deliver a more efficient and thrilling drive.
The Taycan Cross Turismo, the SUV variant of the Taycan, will also benefit from these upgrades. The Offroad Design Package, now standard on the Cross Turismo, includes design elements for light off-road adventures, such as skid plates and 10mm of extra ground clearance.
The interior of the Taycan has also seen some changes. The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system has been updated for faster performance and greater functionality. The Porsche App Center, accessible directly within the updated PCM system, now offers a wider selection of third-party apps, including streaming services and navigation aids.
Safety features have been enhanced as well. Adaptive cruise control and lane change assist are now standard on all Taycan models, ensuring a safer and more comfortable driving experience.
For those opting for the GTS and Turbo variants, rear-axle steering and Porsche's Power Steering Plus, previously optional equipment, are now included.
Lastly, the in-car listening experience has been elevated with the introduction of Dolby Atmos spatial audio. This immersive, theater-like sound quality is now available for vehicles equipped with Bose or Burmester premium sound systems.
With these upgrades, the Porsche Taycan continues to set the bar high in the EV market, offering a blend of performance, luxury, and technology that few can match.
