In a historic moment for the Vancouver Whitecaps, German international Thomas Müller has officially joined the team. The club announced the news on social media, welcoming Müller as he begins his new chapter in Canada.

Müller made his debut in style, scoring a penalty kick deep into stoppage time to secure a 3:2 victory over St. Louis City. His first goal for the Whitecaps came in the 14th minute of added time, much to the delight of the home crowd.

The goal was a fitting start for Müller, who has shown his hunger and ambition to achieve something special with his new team. After scoring, Müller celebrated in his typical fashion, surrounded by his new teammates who hugged him in celebration.

Müller's motivation for scoring the goal came from a phone call with Manuel Neuer and Harry Kane, who were both impressed by his determination to make an impact in Vancouver.

The coach of Müller's new team, Dane Jesper Sørensen, was pleased with Müller's performance, stating that "fans got their money's worth today." Sørensen praised Müller's leadership, as he led the team onto the field as captain in his first start for the Whitecaps.

Müller has expressed a desire to contribute to keeping the fire for football burning in Vancouver. He also reported that he felt the need to keep up with his former team's success, as Bayern Munich had a 6:0 victory against RB Leipzig on the same day.
