Post office's elevator in need of maintenance.
The city of Lucerne (Stadt Luzern) has announced that the elevator at the Poststeg will be undergoing repairs starting from Monday, 02.06.2025, and will continue until at least Friday, 06.06.2025.
During this period, the elevator will be out of service. However, the staircase to the Poststeg remains unaffected by this measure, allowing visitors to access the venue via the stairs.
Visitors are advised to plan their trips accordingly, as the elevator closure may affect those with mobility issues or those carrying heavy loads. The city of Lucerne apologises for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks visitors for their understanding.
The city is responsible for the maintenance of the elevator and its downtime during the repair period. The repair work is aimed at ensuring the safety and efficiency of the elevator for future use.
The Poststeg is a popular tourist destination in Lucerne, offering breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding mountains. It is located on the banks of Lake Lucerne and is accessible via a suspension bridge. Despite the temporary closure of the elevator, the staircase and the bridge remain open, allowing visitors to enjoy the attractions of the Poststeg.
For more information about the repair work or any other queries, visitors can contact the city of Lucerne's customer service department. The city appreciates the cooperation of the public and looks forward to welcoming visitors back to the Poststeg once the repairs are completed.
