Post-terrorist incident, city health authorities arrange a public hearing on health-related matters.

In the heart of Solingen's city centre, at Hauptstraße 61-63, The Glass Workshop has become a beacon of support and conversation for those affected by the tragic terrorist attack at Fronhof on August 23.

Organised by the Health Department, these open, low-threshold conversations aim to provide a safe and protected setting for individuals to share their experiences, exchange views, and develop strategies for processing the aftermath of the attack.

The city, in its efforts to support those affected, has extended this offer until October 2. Conversations will be held every Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and every Friday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

It's important to note that these conversations are not a therapeutic offer, but rather an opportunity for individuals to connect and find comfort in shared experiences. If, however, severe psychological consequences are identified during the conversation, individuals will be referred to the regular support system available within the city.

The emergency pastoral care, initially on site after the attack, has been reintegrated into regular parish pastoral care. The regular support system, provided by the city, is also available for those who need further assistance after the conversations.

The city's anniversary celebrations were disrupted by the attack, but the spirit of Solingen remains undeterred. The Glass Workshop, with its open doors, stands as a testament to the city's resilience and its commitment to supporting its community in times of need.

The conversations offer a valuable opportunity for healing and growth, and everyone is welcome to attend. Starting on September 11, this offer is available for all affected by the Solingen terror attack. The institution providing this service is the City of Solingen.

Let us continue to support each other in these challenging times, and remember that in the heart of Solingen, there is always a safe and welcoming space for conversation and healing.
