Postponement of the new town hall schedule - Construction hurdles causing delays

New City Hall Delayed, but Progress Continues

The much-anticipated New City Hall project in our city is facing a slight delay, with the handover now scheduled for mid-September 2026, instead of the initial date of December 1, 2025. Despite this setback, preparations for the future occupancy are proceeding as planned.

The delay is primarily due to unforeseen construction challenges during the renovation work and complex coordination and handoffs between project partners. These challenges have led to static and technical problems that require further planning and additional construction measures.

However, progress on the construction site is being made. Recently, preparations for new wall installations have begun. The project, which has experienced a change of ownership during the phase of construction, is moving forward with the aim of creating a modern, digital, and citizen-friendly administrative hub.

Mayor Frank Stein remains committed to this vision and looks forward to the perspectives and developments this project will bring to the city. A comprehensive status report, which aims to present project progress, reasons for the delay, and explain next steps, will be presented to political bodies in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Regrettably, the search results do not provide information about who the landlord of the new town hall is or who caused the delay in the renovation project. Despite this, the city is optimistic about the future of the New City Hall and the improved services it will offer to its citizens.

As the project progresses, updates will be shared to keep the public informed about the developments. The city remains committed to transparency and keeping its citizens informed about the status of the New City Hall project.
