Power and Avarice: Lim's Financial Empire

In a nation where justice seems to be skewed, there is a current rush to eliminate damning evidence of alleged ill-gotten wealth. The individuals in question, often the children of politicians or contractors, flaunt their extravagant lifestyles on social media, voluntarily sharing their lavish properties abroad and collections of luxury vehicles, numbering up to 40.

Their behavior, off the deep end as some may say, is enabled by parents who are drunk with their wealth. The author's mother's advice is that the rich do not have to prove anything to anyone, yet the children seem to seek validation, self-esteem boosts, admiration, and envy through social media engagement.

This display of staggering greed is not something to be proud of, but what one does with their wealth could potentially be. The author suggests that today's rich kids do not want their wealth to go unnoticed. However, the truly rich, as the author believes, do not flaunt their wealth and prefer to stay obscure and lowkey.

Buying items not for use but for display indicates a deep addiction to consumption. In a country teeming with poverty, flaunting wealth is extremely insensitive. It is a stark reminder of the lack of justice in the country, where those who work hard and honestly are penalized for small infractions, while those who steal and plunder with impunity prosper.

The individuals behind secret actions to eliminate evidence of allegedly illegally acquired assets are typically those involved in corruption, money laundering, or organized crime. The government employee owning a P500M mansion abroad requires an explanation or investigation. Social media accounts associated with the individual have been switched to private, locked, or deactivated, leading to speculation about dopamine hits through social media engagement.

In this scenario, legitimate business owners are burdened with higher taxes, increased business expenses, and extortion schemes, while government personnel rob the nation's coffers. It is a stark contrast that raises questions about the fairness of the system and the need for accountability and transparency.
