Pre-ordering now available for video game 'Shogo' from Redstar

In a recent development, Redstar, a Japanese company, has introduced a new tablet called 'Shogo'. The tablet, built around a Freescale iMX-37 processor, runs on the open source Linux operating system.

Measuring 268 x 168 x 16mm and weighing 800 gms, the Shogo tablet sports a 10.1 inch screen with a resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels. It utilizes multi-touch capacitive technology for an enhanced user experience.

The tablet offers Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Bluetooth, and a built-in 3G modem for connectivity. It comes with 4 GB of onboard memory, expandable via an SDHC memory card slot, and boasts a system memory of 256MB.

The Shogo tablet is currently available only in Japan and retails for 56,800 Yen. No software support or release date for international markets has been announced yet.
