The German Weather Service (DWD) has predicted a mixed weather pattern for the upcoming weekend, with periods of sunshine interspersed with rain showers and the occasional thunderstorm.

On Friday, the northern and eastern regions of the country can expect frequent showers and occasional heavy rain. Local thunder and lightning are also possible. The highest temperatures on Friday are expected to range from 18 to 25 degrees. However, after mid-morning, the rest of the day should remain dry, with sunny intervals. Towards the evening, showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to move in from the southwest.

On Friday, the DWD warns of the possibility of up to 30 liters of rain per square meter in a short period, especially in the north and east. This could potentially lead to local flooding, so it's important to stay informed and take necessary precautions.

As we move into Saturday, the weather will continue to be unpredictable. Sun and clouds will alternate, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected later in the day. The highest temperatures are expected to be 17 to 24 degrees.

By Sunday, the rain will begin to ease off towards the southeast, and the sun will break through more frequently. However, strong clouds are expected to move over the northwest, bringing rain to some areas. The temperatures on Sunday are expected to range from 21 to 26 degrees.

It's worth noting that earlier this week, strong thunderstorms with heavy rain affected several parts of Baden-Württemberg, including Tuttlingen, Zollernalbkreis, Sigmaringen, Tübingen, Reutlingen, and Biberach. Additionally, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, severe storms with heavy rain, hail, wind gusts over 90 km/h, and flooding were reported mainly in southern Germany, particularly in Bavaria and parts of Baden-Württemberg.

In conclusion, the DWD predicts a mix of sun and rain for the weekend, with the possibility of thunderstorms and heavy rain, particularly on Friday. It's advisable to stay informed and take necessary precautions, especially in the north and east, where the weather may be more unpredictable.
