Harald Naegeli, the renowned Swiss artist and the "Sprayer of Zurich," is currently exhibiting his works at the Bilker Bunker Düsseldorf on Aachener Straße 39. The exhibition, titled "Harald Naegeli - Zeichnungen des Sprayers," features a collection of drawings and graphics that highlight Naegeli's unique style and artistic journey.

Naegeli, who is now 85 years old, lived in Düsseldorf for over 30 years and his works can be found in various locations around the city, including underpasses, neighborhoods, and the Rhine knee bridge.

The exhibition is open for visitors on Wednesdays and Fridays from 5 pm to 9 pm, Saturdays from 2 pm to 9 pm, and Sundays from 2 pm to 6 pm. The exhibition will run until April 2nd, providing art enthusiasts with ample time to visit and appreciate Naegeli's works.

One of the highlights of the exhibition is the installation of five sheets from Naegeli's "Urwolke" series. This ongoing series, which consists of hundreds of large ink drawings, showcases Naegeli's creative process and his ability to breathe life into his art. The "Urwolke" series includes changes and additions marked by Naegeli with dates on the back, providing a fascinating insight into his evolution as an artist.

Some of the motifs in the exhibition resemble early sketches of the Rhineland art shaman Joseph Beuys, who advocated for Naegeli's freedom during his legal battles. The motifs in the exhibition vary, featuring dogs, parrots, geometrically poetic creatures, fish-women, and abstract compositions.

Naegeli's works are delicate and not suitable for digital platforms like Instagram, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the physical experience of his art. The drawings and graphics in the exhibition are a testament to Naegeli's commitment to his craft and his belief in the power of art to combat lifelessness.

Visitors to the exhibition can also witness Naegeli's appearance in videos from the vernissage at the Bilker Bunker. Despite facing pursuits by the justice system for his work, Naegeli remains a celebrated figure in the art world.
