Private investment of approximately 800 crore rupees draws into MEPZ, resulting in 3,500 fresh job opportunities.
On Monday, September 8, 2025, the Unit Approval Committee (UAC) approved eight new projects for the MEPZ Special Economic Zone (SEZ), marking a significant milestone in Tamil Nadu's industrial development.
The projects span across various sectors, including IT/ITES, manufacturing, engineering, and logistics. Notable companies like VVDN Technologies Private Limited, PMI Global Technologies Pvt. Ltd., and Subeno India Private Limited are involved, collectively investing over ₹800 crore.
VVDN Technologies, a newly recognized Export Oriented Unit (EOU), is investing ₹101.6 crore in Pollachi, creating 2,300 new jobs. PMI Global Technologies, on the other hand, plans to invest ₹644 crore in MEPZ SEZ in Sriperumbudur, generating 460 new jobs. Subeno India Private Limited is bringing in ₹4.77 crore and creating 180 new jobs at TIDEL Park, ELCOT SEZ, Coimbatore.
These approvals reinforce MEPZ SEZ's pivotal role in Tamil Nadu's industrial growth. In FY26 alone, MEPZ SEZ has attracted close to ₹1,000 crore in investments, creating 10,000 jobs. The projects are expected to create more than 3,500 new jobs, bringing the total employment generated in FY26 to over 13,500 jobs.
The statement from the Press Information Bureau (PIB) highlights MEPZ's commitment to promoting equity and diversity in the workforce. The approved projects have collectively committed to hiring over 25 transgender individuals.
The exact number of companies involved in these projects is not specified. However, the investments made and the jobs created underscore MEPZ SEZ's continued success in attracting businesses and fostering economic growth in Tamil Nadu.
