Professional sports venue operators BetMGM and MGM Resorts implement messaging promoting responsible gaming at NFL stadiums
BetMGM, MGM Resorts, and AGA Team Up to Promote Responsible Gaming Ahead of NFL Season
In a continued effort to promote responsible gambling, BetMGM, MGM Resorts International, and the American Gaming Association (AGA) have joined forces for the third consecutive year. This collaboration comes just ahead of the upcoming NFL season, set to kick off on September 4.
The partnership will see QR codes directing players to responsible gambling resources, along with messages reminding players to set budgets and take timeouts, engage with BetMGM Sportsbook players. The messaging will appear via LED ribbons throughout the football season at nearly a dozen NFL stadiums, including Lincoln Financial Field, the home stadium of the Philadelphia Eagles, and the newly named New Commanders Stadium.
Rhea Loney, BetMGM's Chief Compliance Officer, highlighted the significance of the latest initiative, placing GameSense in NFL stadiums to reach millions of fans weekly. Joe Maloney, AGA's SVP Strategic Communications, emphasized the importance of collaboration in promoting responsible gaming.
MGM Resorts recently donated $250,000 to the International Center for Responsible Gaming. The generous contribution will support independent, peer-reviewed research aimed at improving best practices for casino employee support and player protection strategies.
In addition to stadium displays, GameSense and AGA's Play Smart from the Start messages will reach players via digital platforms, at MGM retail venues, and MGM Grand Live Dealer studio. The initiative will also extend GameSense messages to additional NFL stadiums in the future.
The promotion will occur during Responsible Gaming Education Month (RGEM 2025) in September, reinforcing the commitment of the three organisations to promoting responsible gambling practices. This collaboration underscores the importance of promoting responsible gambling and ensuring a safe and enjoyable gaming experience for all.
