On August 19, 2025, a gas explosion rocked a residential building on Finkenweg in Dachtel, Ludwigsburg. The incident occurred in the ground-floor apartment of the house, causing a flash fire.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the explosion was caused by a gas leak. Thankfully, no other persons were present in the affected apartment or other parts of the building at the time of the explosion, and no other persons were injured.
Emergency services, including the fire department, emergency medical services, technical relief agency, and police, were swiftly dispatched to the scene. A 51-year-old resident was inside the apartment during the explosion and sustained severe injuries. The resident was airlifted to a hospital by helicopter, but the condition of the individual remains undisclosed.
Investigations regarding the exact cause of the gas leak are still ongoing. A structural engineer's initial assessment indicates no risk of building collapse. The estimated property damage due to the explosion is at least 50,000 euros.
