Proposal for safeguarding labor force from ionizing radiation hazards to be suggested by the Commission.
The district of Rhein-Kreis Neuss has announced significant enhancements to its rescue services, with a gradual increase since the end of December 2024.
The rescue service in the areas of Neuss-Mitte and Neuss-SΓΌd has seen an expansion, with an additional 2.5 Rescue and Transport Vehicles (RTW) now in operation. This increase is part of a broader strategy to improve emergency response times and ensure better care for residents.
In the Grevenbroich area, the rescue service has been significantly bolstered, moving from 2.5 RTW to four vehicles operating 24/7. This expansion includes the upgrade of a patient transport vehicle to an ambulance, staffed with emergency medical technicians, and the continued presence of an emergency doctor's vehicle.
One of the key developments is the construction of a new rescue station on the fire department grounds in Juichen. This station will house space for a second rescue vehicle and the necessary personnel. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026 and is expected to be completed by 2027.
The KTW capacity in the Neuss-Mitte, Grevenbroich, and Juichen areas has more than doubled as part of these enhancements. This increased capacity is designed to improve the efficiency of the rescue services and ensure a swift response to emergencies.
The district council has unanimously approved the partial revision of the rescue service requirement plan and the corresponding measures. The ongoing comprehensive revision of the plan will incorporate all developments related to the rescue service, ensuring that the district remains well-equipped to handle emergencies.
However, the closure of the Central Emergency Admissions Department at the Rheinland Clinic in Grevenbroich has raised concerns about transport and deployment times. The district is currently analyzing these times and will implement further compensation measures if necessary.
These changes mark a significant step forward in the district's efforts to improve its rescue services and ensure the safety and well-being of its residents.
