Workers' Safety Commission Tasked to Propose Radiation Protection Directive

In the early hours of Sunday, August 31, 2025, two separate incidents occurred in the towns of Wildeshausen and Großenkneten, according to the Police Department Delmenhorst/Oldenburg-Land/Wesermarsh.

Firstly, a traffic accident involving an injured person took place around 4:00 AM on Döhler Straße in Döhlen, Großenkneten. No further details about the identity of the injured individual were provided.

In a separate incident on August 29, 2025, a traffic accident occurred on Visbeker Straße at Hermann-Ehlers Straße in Wildeshausen. The accident involved a cyclist riding against traffic who did not yield, causing a collision with a 61-year-old cyclist. The unknown cyclist, who was wearing dark clothing and had his light turned off, wobbled and fled the scene without checking on the injured cyclist.

The police department initiated a criminal proceeding against the driver of the car, a 28-year-old from Wardenburg, after medical treatment and a blood sample revealed that the driver was under the influence of medication. The driver veered off the road to the right in a left curve, collided with a tree, and overturned. The 61-year-old cyclist was injured in the accident.

During first aid measures, a strong smell of alcohol was noticed, and a breath alcohol test was conducted, which showed a value of 2.02 per mille. The driver was rescued from his car and received medical treatment.
