Protestors Gather in Solingen for More Demonstrations on the Weekend

In the city of Solingen this coming Saturday, four demonstrations have been registered by the Wuppertal Police Press Office. These events will take place at various locations throughout the city, with each rally and demonstration having its unique focus and organiser.

The first event will be a rally at Graf-Wilhelm-Platz/Corner Am Neumarkt, organised by the Arab European Organization for Human Rights Development e.V. The motto for this rally is "Solidarity with the victims in Solingen - Information on the current situation". The expected number of participants is around 200, and the rally will take place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by another event from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Unfortunately, the exact number of deployed police officers will not be disclosed for tactical reasons.

Simultaneously, a demonstration will take place in the area of HauptstraรŸe/Corner Breidbacher Tor under the motto "Woman's Life - Freedom / Political Islam is dangerous - Such mistakes should not happen again". This demonstration is being organised by a private individual, and the expected number of participants is approximately 50. The demonstration will run from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Another rally will take place in the Hofgarten, specifically at the corner of Kรถlner Street and Berg Street, with the motto "Against fascist agitation and danger". This event is organised by the MLPD - Marxist-Leninist Party of Germany and is expected to have around 30 participants. The rally will take place from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Lastly, the Union of Kurdish Writers and Journalists Syria e.V. will host a rally on the Old Market from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM under the motto "Solidarity with the victims of the attack". This event is also expected to have around 30 participants.

Given the multiple events taking place, numerous traffic disruptions must be expected. It's also worth noting that further demonstrations or spontaneous demonstrations in the city centre may be registered at short notice. Citizens are advised to exercise caution and follow any instructions from the local authorities during these events.
