Pushing For Investment Boost, Focus on Advanced Technologies and Eco-Friendly Sectors in Phu Tho

Phu Tho, a northern province in Vietnam, is gearing up to prioritize support for investors in the tourism and services sectors, with the ultimate goal of making it a leading travel and leisure destination.

The province is taking several proactive steps to achieve this goal. Business dialogues and investment promotion events will be held in Phu Tho, aiming to attract potential investors. To facilitate smooth transportation, the province is upgrading transport links to expressways and national highways.

Infrastructure development, particularly in industrial parks and clusters, is a key focus. Phu Tho aims to attract infrastructure development projects for industrial parks and clusters such as Tam Nong, Ha Hoa, Phu Ninh, Trung Ha II, Lap Thach I, Lap Thach II, and Tam Duong II (Zone B).

Logistics services and inland container depots (ICDs) are also being developed to ensure efficient supply chain management. On-site investment promotion will be boosted, providing assistance to enterprises with business registration, licensing, and site clearance.

Phu Tho is not only focusing on tourism but also on high-tech, green technology, semiconductor, and clean energy projects. This focus is evident in the recent establishment of the Mekong company, which began production of MDF (medium-density fiberboard) at its site in Cam Khe district.

The province has already seen positive signs of economic growth, with 964 businesses resuming operations, reflecting that local firms have overcome difficulties and are actively seeking new customers and markets. In the first seven months of 2025, Phu Tho attracted 651.7 million USD in foreign direct investment (FDI), contributing significantly to socio-economic development.

To further promote investment, trade, and tourism, Phu Tho has sent six investment promotion delegations to key markets such as the Republic of Korea, Japan, South Africa, India, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan (China), Sweden, Spain, and China. Additionally, Phu Tho plans to organize seven overseas investment promotion missions in the upcoming year.

To better communicate its investment promotion efforts, Phu Tho will produce a documentary in five languages. The province is also focusing on studying potential markets, trends, and partners, promoting Phu Tho's investment environment, and organizing investor networking activities.

Notable large-scale projects that have already broken ground in Phu Tho include social housing development, urban projects, and tourism initiatives such as the Cuoi Ha cable car system and Serena Resort. In the same period, 35 newly licensed projects worth 119 million USD and 45 existing projects with an additional capital of 533 million USD were attracted.

In total, 2,701 new enterprises were established with a combined registered capital of over 25.5 trillion VND (970.87 million USD) in Phu Tho, indicating a strong commitment from investors to the province's development. Working delegations will also be sent to Australia, New Zealand, and other markets to further promote investment, trade, and tourism.

In conclusion, Phu Tho is actively working to establish itself as a leading travel and leisure destination, with a focus on infrastructure development, FDI attraction, and the promotion of high-tech, green technology, semiconductor, and clean energy projects.
