Race details for the 14th stage of Vuelta a España: Location - Avilés to La Farrapona, Route map, Estimated time, Date.

The fourteenth stage of the Vuelta a España 2025 will depart from Avilés and conclude at La Farrapona, covering a distance of 135 km. This will mark the third edition in which La Farrapona is climbed in the race.

La Farrapona, known as the second 'colossus' of Asturias, will serve as the final climb of the fourteenth stage. The city of León served as the starting point in the previous edition. The stage will feature three climbs, including the Alto de Tenebreo, Puertu de San Llaurienzu, and La Farrapona.

The Puertu de San Llaurienzu is a first-category climb, 13 km long with ramps of up to 14%. The Alto de Tenebreo, on the other hand, is a third-category climb.

The climb to La Farrapona is traditionally decisive for the general classification. In the 2025 edition, Tom Pidcock and Jai Hindley are fighting to close the gap on leader Jonas Vingegaard. Pidcock is currently in third place, 2 minutes and 18 seconds behind Vingegaard, while Hindley is in fourth, 3 minutes behind.

Fernando Escartín, the technical director of La Vuelta, predicts that the fourteenth stage will be a day where the breakaway will be formed by important cyclists, good climbers with some margin in the general classification.

Jonas Vingegaard remains in the lead of the general classification, holding a 46-second lead over Joao Almeida. Almeida, who won the thirteenth stage, has moved up to second place. Felix Gall is in fifth place, 3 minutes and 15 seconds behind Vingegaard.

The fourteenth stage of La Vuelta a España 2025 will not finish at the Angliru, unlike some previous editions. Instead, it will conclude at La Farrapona, located in the Natural Park of the Lakes of Somiedo.

The stage will be broadcast live on Teledeporte, La 1, and the website Play, starting at 13:40 hours. This Saturday, the Vuelta a España 2025 is taking place in Asturian lands.
