Race winner Oscar Piastri clinches pole position in the Netherlands, with Isack Hadjar earning a commendable fourth place finish
In the latest round of Formula 1 qualifying, Max Verstappen secured pole position for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, outpacing his rivals including Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon. Verstappen's teammate, George Russell, qualified in fifth position for Mercedes.
At Monza, Pierre Gasly faced a challenging weekend for his Alpine team, as he was eliminated in the later stage of qualifying (Q2). Gasly expressed his disappointment, stating, "This weekend has been very complicated. We're already happy to get out of Q1." Gasly will start from 14th position on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Esteban Ocon, racing for Haas, faced an even more challenging qualifying session. Ocon was eliminated in the earlier stage of qualifying (Q1) and shared his dissatisfaction about his elimination. He will start from 18th position on the grid.
In a positive note, Isack Hadjar, racing for Racing Bulls, achieved his best result in Formula 1 qualifying, qualifying in fourth position. Hadjar's impressive performance adds excitement to the upcoming race.
Moving on to the qualifying session at Zandvoort, Netherlands on August 30, Oscar Piastri secured his fifth pole position of the season. Piastri leads the drivers' championship and his pole position sends a strong message to his main rival, teammate Lando Norris. The battle between Piastri and Norris is expected to be fierce, as they are separated by just nine points.
Norris will start in second position on Sunday, having won three of the previous four races. The race promises to be an exciting contest between the two teammates.
It's worth noting that neither Esteban Ocon nor Pierre Gasly secured a pole position or a top-5 start for either race. Charles Leclerc qualified in sixth position for Ferrari at Monza, while Lewis Hamilton qualified in seventh position for Ferrari.
The Italian Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday, with the Zandvoort Grand Prix to follow shortly after. The races promise to be thrilling, with close battles and exciting performances from the drivers.
