Racing Away! Introducing First-Ever LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart Construction Sets by The LEGO Group

The LEGO Group has announced six new LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart sets, set to launch on January 1, 2025. These sets, unveiled at gamescom, an annual trade show for gamers, promise an immersive building experience and capture the heart-pounding action of the beloved video game series.

Interactive Play with LEGO Mario and Friends

Each set features vibrant characters, customizable karts, and unique track items for endless play. The sets include specific builds like Yoshi Bike, Standard Kart, and Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo. The addition of LEGO Mario, Luigi, or Peach figures (not included) allows for an enhanced interactive experience, triggering iconic Mario Kart audio and visual effects.

The Interactive LEGO Mario & Standard Kart set, a starter pack featuring the interactive Mario figure, includes sound and visual effects triggered by driving and customization. Other sets, such as Baby Mario vs. Baby Luigi, Baby Peach & Grand Prix Set, and Toad's Garage, offer a fun way to experience the Mario Kart universe.

Customizable Karts and Unique Track Items

Toad's Garage stands out for its customization options, allowing swapping wheels via a Customization Machine, which also functions as a build connector piece. Compatible with other karts, this set enhances playability. The Baby Mario vs. Baby Luigi set includes 6 buildable balloons, while the Baby Peach & Grand Prix Set features Baby Peach in her Wild Wiggler kart, Lemmy in the Landship kart, and Toad on the standard bike.

A New Era for LEGO Super Mario

The new sets bring the Mario Kart franchise to the world of LEGO bricks for the first time. Notable additions like Wario and King Boo, alongside Bowser’s Castle and other racers, will be released in a second wave. The sets support the LEGO Super Mario app for building instructions and creative ideas.

These new additions nearly double the LEGO Mario Kart collection launched earlier in 2025 and feature iconic racers and tracks based on Nintendo’s Mario Kart series, particularly Mario Kart 8. The new LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart sets and LEGO Animal Crossing sets will be available via LEGO.com, LEGO stores, and from select leading retailers around the world from January 1, 2025.
