Racing enthusiast Christian Sundermann experienced a fortune-filled beginning, with horse races and bets centered around the numbers 7, 9, and 13.

In the heart of Baden-WΓΌrttemberg, Germany, the Iffezheim racetrack plays host to an annual event that captivates horse racing enthusiasts and bettors alike - the Iffezheim Grand Week. Amongst the throngs of spectators, one name stands out: Christian Sundermann.

With a passion for horse racing that spans nearly four decades, Sundermann, a Munich-based horse owner and stable owner, has become a familiar figure at the racetrack. Despite never having ridden a horse himself, Sundermann's love for the sport began by chance in the 80s, and it has grown into a deep-rooted fascination.

Sundermann's interest in betting on horse races is equally as strong. He places his bets at betting booths on the Iffezheim racetrack or online with a betting provider, meticulously studying the horses, jockeys, race card, and odds before each race. His base bet is roughly five euros on win and 15 euros on place per race.

The Iffezheim racetrack, much like many others, is vigilant about the issue of gambling addiction. Cashiers at the betting windows are trained to recognize unusual behavior in individuals and report it to the team leader. This year, the organizer of the Great Week is obligated to be particularly vigilant, with racing clubs now required to submit a concept for addiction prevention to obtain a Toto license.

One such bettor at the Iffezheim Grand Week this year is Noel, who placed a ten-euro place bet on his first visit. For Sundermann, however, the event is much more than just a betting opportunity. The Iffezheim Grand Week is a significant event, a chance to observe the horses up close, gauge their physical condition, and feel the excitement of betting like the horse's owner during the race.

Last year, the Iffezheim Grand Week generated approximately 3.7 million euros through betting, with the most popular bet being the win bet, followed closely by the place bet. On the day of the Grand Prix of Baden alone, around 1.4 million euros were generated through betting.

Sundermann's expertise in betting on horse races is evident in his active participation in betting events such as the V4 and V75 bets in conjunction with Wettstar. His success in the sport is noteworthy, with his first win coming on a three-horse trifecta with the numbers 7, 9, and 13 in the 80s.

Despite his strong views on the issue of gambling addiction, Sundermann's love for horse racing and betting remains undiminished. As he continues to immerse himself in the world of horse racing, one thing is certain - Christian Sundermann will remain a dedicated and passionate participant in the Iffezheim Grand Week for years to come.
