Rainfall and thunderstorms forecasted at the onset of the next week
Germany Weather Forecast: Changeable Week Ahead with Rain and Thunderstorms
As the new week begins in Germany, residents can expect a changeable weather pattern with showers, thunderstorms, and less sunshine. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the motto for the following weekend is 'off and on rain, but not everyone will get wet.'
From the Eifel to the Upper Rhine lowlands, there is a risk of heavy rain, particularly on Tuesday. North Rhine-Westphalia could be a hotspot for the heaviest rainfall, with Magdalena Bertelmann, a meteorologist at DWD, predicting that the rain will continue into Tuesday. In the western half, it will remain heavily clouded and stormy into Tuesday night, with rain affecting the south of Germany and the east in the night to Thursday.
The east will experience rain into Thursday, according to Bertelmann, with some areas receiving significant rainfall, potentially filling rain barrels. In contrast, the area most frequently affected by rain on Thursday, according to the meteorologist, is located in southern Germany.
Temperatures will range from a maximum of 17 degrees south of the Danube to 24 degrees at the Neiße. In the western half, many places won't reach the 20-degree mark on Tuesday. However, temperatures will climb to 21 to 26 degrees, with the highest values from the Lüneburg Heath to the Erzgebirge foothills. Temperatures will remain relatively high in the east, with a maximum of 24 degrees at the Neiße.
Rain in the west will gradually ease off on Tuesday night, but no further specific information about the western half's weather conditions on Wednesday was provided. From the Baltic Sea to the Erzgebirge, the weather will be less changeable on Tuesday, with sunshine and temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees. Temperatures will drop to 13 to 6 degrees on Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Particularly from Monday, the eastern part of Germany is predicted to have friendlier weather. However, it's essential to keep an eye on the forecast and be prepared for possible changes as the week progresses. Always remember to stay safe and dry during the rainy periods.
