Rallycross Competition in Hungary - Kristoffersson Amps Up the Intensity

In a thrilling finale at the Nyirád Racing Circuit, the Rallycross World Championship witnessed an all-Scandinavian battle for the top spots. The race, marked by intense competition and sensational moments, saw Johan Kristoffersson clinch the first place, followed by Ole Christian Veiby in second, and Timmy Hansen in third.

Kristoffersson, a seven-time World Champion, led from start to finish, demonstrating his mastery of the track's undulations, tight corners, and elevation. His Volkswagen Polo World RX machine seemed to glide effortlessly over the course, setting blistering lap times that left his competitors in his wake.

The CE Dealer team, always a force to be reckoned with, used their joker's on the opening tour of the final race, adding an extra layer of excitement to the proceedings. Kristoffersson's stellar semi-final performance set the stage for his dominating win. He set a new track record of 44.086 seconds, a time that still stands as the fastest lap of the season.

Ole Christian Veiby had a good day as well, slipping up the inside into Turn 1, passing the seasoned Grönholm. Despite Grönholm's best efforts, he dropped back further places and collided with his team-mate Klara Andersson, causing a brief disruption in the race.

Timmy Hansen, who finished the final race in third place, expressed his satisfaction with his performance, mentioning that he risked his life during the race. He was proud of his team for giving him a solid car and announced that he will be chasing Niclas for the rest of the season.

Juha Rytkönen ended the race in fifth place, while Hansen's team-mate, Grönholm, had a less fortunate day, falling back in the third round of the championship.

The championship leader, Kristoffersson, expressed his happiness with the dry pace of the car and the team's 1-2 result. Ole Christian Veiby, who finished second, acknowledged the tough competition from Kristoffersson, saying he had a good feeling during the race.

The race took place under a hot sun, with the temperature rising during the race, causing a good covering of dust. Despite the challenging conditions, the drivers pushed themselves to the limit, delivering a race that will be remembered as one of the most intense and sensational of the season.
