Rare collectibles from Pink Floyd, Falco, Queen, and other renowned artists will be available during Record Store Day.
Saturday marks the much-anticipated return of Record Store Day, a celebration of the independent music stores that have been the backbone of the industry for decades. This year, nearly 30 local indie stores across the country are set to participate, offering a vast array of exclusive vinyl releases and special events.
One of the highlights of this year's event is the availability of Queen's very first demos, which are among the vinyl rarities on offer. But the excitement doesn't stop there β collectors can also look forward to nearly 500 vinyl highlights, including rare tracks from Taylor Swift, Prince, David Bowie, Black Sabbath, and many more.
Music lovers will also be thrilled to find an Oasis box set in colored vinyl, marking their live comeback. Another noteworthy addition is a new recording of the legendary duet "It Takes Two" by Tina Turner and Bryan Adams.
For those who prefer Austropop, there are Austropop rarities from Falco, available as Glow in the Dark Vinyl. The third edition of the legendary underground sample "Wiener Blutrausch" is also up for grabs.
In addition to the vinyl releases, Record Store Day will feature special events such as Sir George's DJ set at Vienna's Recordbag, and an autograph session with Robert Wolf of Chuzpe at Schallter Audio & Records. The search results do not provide information about the artists participating in the autograph session.
Music enthusiasts can also look forward to three solo treats from Pink Floyd legends: David Gilmour, Roger Waters, and Nick Mason. oe24 is offering Elton John's new hits, and The Doors Alive will be performing at the Lovely Days Festival, courtesy of oe24.
To kick off a tour, Rainhard Fendrich's "SchularbeitsgefuΜhl" will be part of the offerings. Lastly, around 500 special vinyl releases will be sold during Record Store Day, making it a day not to be missed for any music lover. So, mark your calendars for Saturday and head down to your local indie store to celebrate Record Store Day 2022!
