The city of Gießen has recently renovated the Ringallee outdoor pool, making it more inclusive and accessible for all visitors.

Uwe Volbrecht, the head of the Gießen baths, spearheaded the renovation project. The main focus of the renovation was to create an accessible bathroom area for people with disabilities.

The new bathroom facilities include a floor-level shower with a fold-down seat, support grab bars, and extended faucet levers. The renovated toilet is equipped with a backrest and support grab bars, ensuring comfort and safety for all users.

Samuel Groß, the city's disability officer, praised the accessible renovation, stating that it makes it easier for guests with mobility impairments to visit the Ringallee outdoor pool.

The renovated bathroom area also boasts several additional features. It is equipped with automatic lighting, wheelchair-accessible power outlets, and an under-counter sink with support bars and a single-lever mixer. For added safety, a call system with visual and audible signals has been installed.

The renovation also includes the installation of a pool lift, making it easier for people with disabilities to access the pool.

Uwe Volbrecht emphasized that the renovation aims to create an inviting and accessible environment for all guests. The accessible bathroom area provides unimpeded access to showers for people with disabilities.

The collaboration for the accessible renovation was carried out in close cooperation with Samuel Groß, the city's disability officer. However, the name of the city official coordinating the collaboration with Stadtwerke Gießen was not publicly specified.

The renovated bathroom area at the Ringallee outdoor pool is now available for use, making it easier than ever for everyone to enjoy a day at the pool.
