Recognized bus drivers, who are married, received their well-deserved accolades
In a heartwarming celebration held at the City Bath, the committed young volunteers who participated in the "cool2school" project were thanked for their invaluable contributions. The event was organised by the Landshut Volunteer Agency in cooperation with the city utilities, the Traffic Safety Association, and the police.
The students, who have played a crucial role in resolving conflicts and providing essential support for bus drivers in school traffic, were praised for their dedication. Their duties involve ensuring order at bus stops and in city buses of Landshut City Utilities.
The thank-you gifts from the city utilities could take the form of a ten-ticket card for the city bath or a free monthly travel card for August. Each student also received a volunteer certificate and a joint lunch as a token of appreciation.
The "cool2school" project, funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Dominik Brunner Foundation, will continue in the next school year. Many students from six Landshut schools participated in the project for the school year 2024/25, making a significant impact on promoting social cohesion in Landshut City.
Follow-up seminars by the police teach civil courage and de-escalation techniques to the students, ensuring they are equipped to handle any challenges they may face. The Traffic Safety Association trains the students for their duties at the beginning of each school year.
Speaking at the event, Michaela Leicht, Deputy Mayor Dr. Thomas Haslinger, Michael Rott, and Police Chief Inspector Thomas Simbรผrger expressed their gratitude towards the students. They emphasised the importance of voluntary commitment for social cohesion and the value of projects like "cool2school" in promoting a harmonious community.
