Empfertshausen's 1200th Anniversary Celebration: A Week-Long Festival of Music, Food, and Fun
Get ready for a week of exciting events as the picturesque town of Empfertshausen celebrates its 1200th anniversary! From the 3rd to the 7th of September 2025, the town will come alive with a variety of activities that are sure to entertain visitors of all ages.
The festivities kick off on Wednesday, 3rd September, with an event at the town centre, featuring hearty onion cake, knuckle of pork from the wood-fired oven, and brass music by De NedertshuΜser e.V., starting at 6:00 PM.
On Thursday, 4th September, Leo's Band will perform live music in the Rodweg, starting at 7:00 PM.
The soapbox race, a much-anticipated event, will take place on Saturday, 6th September, starting at 2:00 PM. Following the race, there will be a grand Aftershow Party in the festival tent starting at 8 PM, featuring MDR Jump Dance Night.
On Sunday, 7th September, the main event of the week, the Historical Market, will open at 10 AM. Numerous exhibitors and market vendors will be present, offering handcrafted goods that transport visitors to the era of old tales and myths. The group "Sagenhaft" will provide music at the market, adding to the authentic atmosphere.
From 2 PM on Sunday, the Family Afternoon will begin in the festival tent, featuring an entertaining program and music by MARILENA, followed by DJ Schnepfe.
From Friday, 5th September, the farm week will be replaced by a festival tent with a 2β¬ party featuring BrunniRockz and Team Torsten, starting at 9:00 PM. Hosted by Jan Kunath, the event will feature DJ Charly along the route and an online registration at [www.empfertshausen.de].
On Tuesday, 2nd September, there will be a pig-themed event at the Adler inn starting at 6:00 PM, featuring historical slide and video presentations and freshly grilled suckling pig.
