Recommendation for Radiation Worker Safety Proposal Requested by the Commission Regarding Ionizing Radiation Dangers.
In the heart of Giessen, on a typical Friday, the Regional Traffic Service conducted a speed check on Licher StraΓe. This routine operation, which took place around late August 2025, aimed to ensure the safety of all road users.
During the speed check, not only motorcycles but also cars, trucks, and an e-scooter were examined. The results were revealing, with 14 out of 22 cars found to be driving too fast. One driver, in particular, was caught going 22 km/h over the limit, resulting in a fine of 115 euros and a point.
Another notable incident involved a "family father," who, visibly upset, arrived at the scene in his car and was driving at 82 km/h. This breach of the speed limit led to a fine of 260 euros, 2 points, and a one-month driving ban for the father.
The Press Spokesman for the Central Hesse Police Headquarters, Pierre Gath, confirmed these incidents. For further inquiries, one can contact the Central Hesse Police Headquarters Press and Public Relations at FerniestraΓe 83, 35394 Giessen, or dial +49 641/7006-2055 during regular working hours. Outside of these hours, contact the duty officer at +49 641/7006-3381 or send an email to [email protected].
Emails can also be sent to [email protected] for press-related inquiries. It is essential to note that the father, in the police reports, is referred to only as a "family father" without any further personal identification.
The e-scooter seizure, another highlight of the speed check, was due to the lack of insight and other traffic offenses, including riding on the sidewalk. This action upset a girl, who called her father about the incident, earning the e-scooter user the title of the "top offender."
