Breakdown of Water Main Incident in Detmold

A water main incident occurred during the night of Saturday, August 30, 2025, and continued into Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the intersection of Lemgoer Street and Marien Street in Detmold. The incident resulted in a water fountain gushing from the ground at the intersection with Marien Street.

The local authorities, including the Detmold Police Station, the fire department, and Detmold Utilities, were called to the scene to address the issue. The police station was instrumental in reporting the incident.

To manage the situation, Lemgoer Street in the direction of the city center will be closed at the intersection with Marien Street until at least 12:00 PM on August 31, 2025. However, motorists can still bypass the construction site by turning into Marien Street.
