In the Belgorod region of Russia, a series of bombings targeting railway tracks occurred in 2024. The Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation has attributed these attacks to members of the Ukrainian DRG, a group that they claim received training from Western intelligence officers in Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, and Norway.

According to the FSB, three saboteurs were eliminated in these attacks, and several members of the DRG have been detained in the Bryansk region. These detained members are confessing to their involvement in the railway sabotage.

The FSB has stated that the training of the DRG members took place in the countries mentioned above. However, there is no publicly verified information naming specific individuals trained by Western intelligence services in these countries who are connected to the 2024 railway sabotage attacks in the Belgorod region.

Russian sources claim that extremists confessed to their involvement in the railway explosions, but details on foreign training or identities have not been confirmed in open sources. It is important to note that these claims have not been independently verified.

The training of the DRG members by Western intelligence officers is reported to have taken place in Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, and Norway. Western intelligence agencies have not publicly confirmed or denied these claims.

As the investigation continues, three more members of the Ukrainian DRG have been detained and are confessing to their roles in the bombings. The exact location of the bombings has not been specified.

This incident highlights the complex and often contentious relationship between Russia and its neighbouring countries, particularly Ukraine, and the potential for armed groups to carry out attacks across borders. The Russian authorities have vowed to bring those responsible to justice, and the international community is closely monitoring the situation.
