Lewis Hamilton Expresses Gratitude for Ferrari Love Amidst Challenges

After a turbulent start with the Ferrari team, seven-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton has found solace in the unwavering support of the Italian tifosi (fans). Despite setbacks and a winless streak, Hamilton has been consistently impressed by the love and passion the Ferrari fans have shown him.

Hamilton's journey with Ferrari has not been without its hurdles. Just a month ago, he described his performance as 'useless', and a crash with teammate Charles Leclerc at the Dutch Grand Prix added to his struggles. However, the British racer has remained optimistic, expressing a desire to keep working with his engineers to extract more from the Ferrari car.

The qualifying session at Monza marked Hamilton's first as a Ferrari driver, and he qualified fifth for the Grand Prix. Despite not standing on the podium in 15 races since joining Ferrari from Mercedes in January, Hamilton has maintained a positive attitude. He recently expressed positivity about the fourth and fifth positions his team achieved at the Monza qualifying.

Leclerc, Hamilton's teammate, qualified fourth for the Monza Grand Prix, and the team's collective performance has been a source of encouragement for Hamilton. He mentioned that the last couple of races have been tough, but the love and support from the Ferrari fans have made those challenges more bearable.

Hamilton has a large number of Italian fans, even while driving for Mercedes. However, the love he has received since joining Ferrari has been overwhelming. He has described the support from the Ferrari tifosi as incredible, with them hiding behind trees and lining the streets. The experience at the Ferrari factory and with the Italian fans has been amazing for Hamilton.

The current team principal (chef) of the Ferrari Formula 1 team is FrΓ©dΓ©ric Vasseur. He has been in this role since December 2022 and recently secured a contract extension into 2025. Hamilton and his team are focused on delivering the job, and the fourth and fifth positions achieved at the Monza qualifying are a testament to their hard work.

Despite not winning a race since joining Ferrari, Hamilton has a storied history at Monza. He has been a five-times winner at the Italian Grand Prix, but has yet to win there as a Ferrari driver. Hamilton expressed that leaving the Monza track is incredible due to the love that people have for the Ferrari team.

Hamilton will drop to 10th position due to a penalty carried over from the Zandvoort race. Regardless, the British racer remains hopeful about his future with Ferrari and is determined to deliver a win at Monza, a track that holds a special place in his heart.
