In the bustling heart of Las Vegas, two of the city's largest casino operators are making moves to attract visitors and counteract a concerning trend of declining tourist numbers. MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment are introducing customer-friendly initiatives in an effort to make a visit more affordable and appealing.

MGM Resorts International, the largest operator on the Las Vegas Strip, controls ten properties. In response to the drop in visitor numbers, the company is taking steps to become more customer-friendly. One such measure is the reduction of the price of in-room bottled water, with MGM Resorts International planning to spend $3 million annually to lower the price.

The price reduction comes as a relief to many, following reports of a single minibar water bottle at the Aria costing $26 in June. MGM Resorts International is also offering free meals for children ten years old and younger at its buffets, and is planning to conduct random giveaways of Cirque du Soleil tickets to hotel guests.

Meanwhile, Caesars Entertainment is offering a discounted getaway package deal at three of its properties. This deal includes a two-night stay and a $200 food and beverage voucher. Other casino companies, such as Caesars Entertainment, are following suit, with discounted getaway packages including a $300 deal covering a two-night stay and a $200 food and beverage voucher.

The drop in visitor numbers to Las Vegas is a concern for MGM Resorts International. According to a recent poll, 68% of respondents blame high prices for the drop. Tourist numbers to Las Vegas fell 12% year-on-year in July 2025, and the trend does not show signs of stopping anytime soon.

The drop in visitor numbers is part of a trend seen so far in 2025. MGM Resorts International is implementing several changes to attract more visitors to Las Vegas. The company is not alone in its efforts, as the trend of casino companies making customer-friendly moves, such as offering discounts and promotions, continues.

As the city of Las Vegas navigates this challenging period, the initiatives by MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment aim to make a visit to the city more affordable and appealing, hopefully reversing the current downturn in tourist numbers.
