New 2026 Honda Civic Unveiled: Refreshed Design, Lower Prices, and Hybrid Powertrain
The much-anticipated update for the Honda Civic has been unveiled, with the 2026 model year set to bring a host of exciting changes. Honda presented the refreshed Civic in August 2025, announcing that it will be available for order in Germany starting early October.
The Civic's design has undergone a significant overhaul, with the addition of 18-inch alloy wheels and new exterior colours. The front end has been revised, featuring a modified grille design. Matte chrome frames are now around the air vents in all trim levels, adding a touch of elegance.
One of the most notable changes is the Civic's move towards the mid-size class. To accommodate this, the vehicle now features spoilers at the lower bumper, painted in the vehicle's colour. The fog lights previously flanking the lower grille opening have been removed.
The hybrid powertrain, which consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and two electric motors, producing 135 kW / 184 PS, remains a key feature of the 2026 Honda Civic. The starting price for the new model is 37,900 euros, a decrease of approximately 1,600 euros compared to previous models.
The base Elegance trim now includes an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a wireless charging pad for smartphones. The "Sport" version of the Civic is available for at least 38,900 euros and comes with a heated steering wheel and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster as standard. The top-of-the-line "Advance" package costs 41,400 euros.
All trim levels of the Civic will now feature a black headliner. The 2026 Honda Civic will be available in Germany, with the exact date of its release being early October.
