Reinforced Entry Points Offer High Burglary Resistance

In the past few weeks, the Rhein-Kreis Neuss area has seen a series of attempted burglaries, according to the local police department. These incidents have taken place in various locations, including Neuss, Dormagen, and Meerbusch's Büderich district.

On August 3, an attempt was made to break into an apartment complex in Neuss between 11:30 and 21:00. Fortunately, an alert neighbour prevented the break-in. Another attempt was made on Plankstraße in Neusser Furth between August 2nd and 3rd, but the perpetrators were unsuccessful.

In Dormagen, someone tried to force open the door of a building on Straße Unter den Hecken between August 20th and 21st. Similarly, suspected burglars gained access to an elevated terrace of a multi-family home on Grünstraße in Meerbusch's Büderich district between August 22nd and 23rd, but did not enter the interior.

The Criminal Investigation Department 14 of the police is now handling the investigations into these incidents. If you have any information that could help with the investigations, you can contact the police on 02131 3000 or email [email protected].

The police department's press office can be contacted for media-related inquiries. They can be reached at jülicher Landstraße 178, 41464 Neuss, telephone: 02131 300-14000, email: [email protected], web: https://rhein-kreis-neuss.polizei.nrw.

The failed burglaries suggest that the perpetrators are opportunistic, using simple tools and working under time pressure. To protect against such incidents, the police are offering free on-site consultations for tenants and homeowners to discuss security measures. To schedule a consultation, call 02131 3000.

Security measures at particularly vulnerable points can help protect against burglaries. The original content of this report was transmitted by the Kreispolizeibehörde Rhein-Kreis Neuss, via news aktuell. If burglars cannot quickly gain entry to a building, they often abandon their attempts.

In addition to these incidents, burglars attempted to break into a single-family home on Herzbroicher Weg in Korschenbroich on August 1st, but did not gain entry. Another failed burglary attempt was made on Oststraße in Büderich between August 23rd and 24th, with the method of entry unknown.

The police urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. By working together, the community can help prevent such incidents and keep the area safe.
