Reinforced shoreline safeguards in Santa Pola
Santa Pola Enhances Safety Measures Along Coastline
The town of Santa Pola has bolstered its safety measures in preparation for the busy summer season and the patron saint festivities. The initiative, presented by Councillor for Beaches Angel Piedecausa and Councillor for Public Safety Ana Blasco, aims to improve safety along the town's 15-kilometre coastline.
One of the key additions to the safety measures is a six-metre rigid inflatable boat with a 140-horsepower engine. This new boat, designed to improve surveillance and rescue operations, can reach any point of the coast quickly, ensuring immediate response in emergencies.
The Local Police will also benefit from the addition of two quad bikes, which provide greater speed and flexibility for beach patrols. The immediate response capability of these vehicles is particularly beneficial where other vehicles may struggle.
Councillor Ana Blasco emphasised the importance of coordination between the Police and Safety departments in protecting both local and tourist beachgoers. She stated, "Our goal is to ensure the safety of everyone enjoying our beautiful beaches and coves during this busy period."
In addition to these measures, the safety campaign in Santa Pola will extend beyond the summer season, lasting during the patron saint festivities from September 1 to September 8. The two quad vehicles, along with the rigid inflatable boat, will be used during these times for public safety and patrol.
The quad vehicles and the new boat are part of the comprehensive safety measures added this summer, which are all designed to support both surveillance and rescue operations. These measures provide reassurance to residents and visitors enjoying the town's beaches and coves during one of the busiest times of the year.
The enhanced safety resources in Santa Pola strengthen day-to-day surveillance during the peak holiday season, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. The town's ongoing efforts to ensure safety during the holiday season and patron saint festivities are evident in these new measures, which are an extension of the initiatives presented by Councillor Piedecausa and Councillor Blasco.
