The Montreal Alouettes are gearing up for their upcoming game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, but head coach Jason Maas has admitted that finding healthy players to play has been a challenging month for the team.

Injuries have taken a toll on the Alouettes, with franchise quarterback Davis Alexander potentially missing an eighth straight game due to his limited participation in practice on Tuesday. If Alexander is unavailable, James Morgan is expected to make a second-straight start under centre.

The game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday, September 6, at Percival Molson Stadium. Several players have been practicing in full, including David Dallaire, Austin Mack, Tyson Philpot, Mustafa Johnson, Marc-Antoine Dequoy, and James Letcher Jr. However, some of these players have been out for over a month.

Defensive lineman Mustafa Johnson, a native of Aurora, Co., has been out since suffering a season-ending knee injury last fall. Johnson, who was named an All-East Division selection in 2023, has recorded 96 defensive tackles, 15 sacks, and one touchdown over 41 career regular-season CFL games.

The Tiger-Cats, who lost their previous game, will be looking to bounce back. The game will be broadcast on TSN, RDS in Canada, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on Ticats Audio Network in Hamilton and TSN 690 in Montreal.

The weather forecast in Montreal for game day calls for a high of 20 degrees, cloudy conditions, and a 40 percent chance of showers.

Coach Maas expressed hope that the team is getting healthier and that this trend continues. He emphasised the importance of healthy teams during the end of the season, stating that they tend to perform well in the CFL.

Unfortunately, the search results do not provide information on the backup quarterback for the Montreal Alouettes in case Davis Alexander is injured. The Alouettes (5-6) will be hoping for a strong performance from their players as they host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (6-5).
