Remarkable Projection Mapping Display Unveiled at Mizzou Arena
The University of Missouri's Mizzou Arena has undergone a significant transformation, with the installation of a cutting-edge projection system. At the heart of this system are four 36,500-lumen Christie Griffyn 4K35-RGB pure laser projectors, selected by Mizzou Athletics to elevate the fan experience.
Quince Imaging, a leading firm in the field, was responsible for the design, installation, and content creation of the new system. The renovation was also overseen by Jamestown Advanced Design Group, ensuring a seamless integration of the 3D projection mapping technology.
The Mizzou Arena's projection system is equipped to take advantage of Rec. 2020 in the future, offering more than twice the colour capability of Rec. 709 projectors. This means that the visual experience for fans is designed to be more realistic and immersive, achieving nearly 98% of the Rec. 2020 colour space.
David Bartlett, director of event systems engineering for Mizzou Athletics, anticipates further advancements in the fan experience. Mizzou Athletics aims to fully realise how to tell the story of Mizzou and Mizzou Athletics, and plans to enhance their capabilities and grow their content inventory.
Bartlett also expressed his excitement about the potential for future advancements, stating that the enhancement of the fan experience at the Mizzou Arena is expected to continue. The Mizzou Arena's projection system also includes Christie Mystique-Pro Venue Edition, a camera-based alignment and recalibration software, ensuring the precision and quality of the visuals remain top-notch.
With this new projection system, the Mizzou Arena joins the ranks of the most technologically advanced arenas in the country, promising an unparalleled experience for fans attending events at the University of Missouri's basketball arena.
