City of Gütersloh and ALTBAUNEU Initiative Offer Free PV Video Advisory Service

The Climate Protection Management of the city of Gütersloh and the ALTBAUNEU initiative of the district have joined forces to offer a PV video advisory service for homeowners. This service, designed to provide advice and guidance on installing PV systems on personal roofs, will be available until September 24, 2025.

The video advice sessions, carried out via Zoom or Teams, last a maximum of 60 minutes and are conducted by the solar experts Thomas Eckstein and Richard Stefanik, commissioned by the city. During these sessions, homeowners can receive free, expert advice on installing PV systems from the comfort of their homes.

The PV video advisory service is in response to the increasing trend of homeowners installing PV systems due to rising electricity prices, falling module prices, and increased electricity consumption. Photovoltaics, or PV systems, are experiencing a boom as more households switch to heat pumps and electric cars, leading to increased electricity demand.

The solar experts use the district-wide solar roof cadastre for individual advice and comparison of different system concepts. This resource allows for tailored advice based on the specific characteristics of each home, ensuring that homeowners receive the best possible guidance for their unique situation.

Owners and owner communities of partially or completely rented objects with up to four residential units can primarily be advised on the full feed-in of solar power into the public grid.

The PV video advisory service is primarily aimed at owners of single and two-family houses who live in the object themselves. However, homeowners who are considering installing a photovoltaic system on their own roof are encouraged to take advantage of this free service.
