Maya Mare to Undergo Comprehensive Modernization

The popular leisure complex, Maya Mare, in Halle (Saale) will be closing its doors from September 14, 2021, to reopen mid-December 2025, for a comprehensive modernization. This investment of approximately 8 million euros aims to enhance comfort, experience quality, and sustainability, including energy-efficient upgrades.

The closure is necessary to modernize and renew old and heavily used technical facilities. The renovation will see two existing saunas completely redesigned to enhance the wellness area, a new slide world constructed, and the wave pool updated. The new slide world will feature heat-insulated slide elements, adding an exciting twist to the water fun.

Logistically, the renovation presents a challenge, with between 15 and 20 different companies needing to be coordinated simultaneously. Melanie Heinrichs, commercial manager of Maya Mare, acknowledges the complexity, stating, "We are looking forward to presenting guests with a modernized and even more attractive Maya Mare after reopening."

During the renovation, the Viva Mare fitness club will remain open, offering a special price for existing members. To make the wait more bearable, all new starters can get to know the fitness club via a discounted monthly or 10-card 'Fitness-Pure' offer.

The sanitary facilities in the entire bathing area will be renewed to improve guest comfort. A new LED lighting system will be installed in the bathing area, contributing to reduced electricity consumption and improved ambiance. The ventilation systems in the Maya Mare will be replaced for around 2 million euros, partly funded by federal funds for climate protection projects in the municipal environment.

The Maya Mare team will use the closing time to intensively tackle cleanings and maintenance tasks that were hardly possible with 360 operating days a year. The renovated Maya Mare will offer an unforgettable experience for all age groups after reopening, with updates and information on the renovation progress shared via the social media channels of Maya Mare.

The decision to close and renovate is a sign for sustainable and energy-efficient leisure activities in Halle (Saale). Melanie Heinrichs thanks guests for their understanding and looks forward to welcoming them back to a modernized and even more attractive Maya Mare.
