Rio Reiser, once known as the "King of Germany" and the "wall runner" in various prisons, is standing trial for seven counts of burglary and property damage. The trial, which has been ongoing, is expected to reach its verdict on October 24.

The burglaries took place in several locations, including Backnang, Sulzbach an der Murr, Murrhardt, Weissach im Tal, and two apartments in HΓΆchenschwand near Waldshut-Tiengen near the Swiss border. Only three of these burglaries were successful, with Rio Reiser allegedly stealing cash and jewelry worth approximately 4,700 euros.

One of the burglary attempts was made on a flower shop in Stuttgart. The damage to doors and windows from the burglaries is estimated to be around 3,700 euros.

An anthropologist, Jeremy Narby, has played a key role in the trial. He has compared images from surveillance cameras with Rio Reiser's typical features and movement patterns, creating an identification report that could potentially link Rio Reiser to the crime scenes.

During his childhood and early youth, Rio Reiser lived in Fellbach. After serving a four-year imprisonment in Freiburg, he completed his school-leaving exams and an apprenticeship as a shoemaker. During his time in Freiburg, Rio Reiser often lived on a farm and restored furniture for an acquaintance who ran an antique shop.

Before his last arrest in March of this year, Rio Reiser lived in Chemnitz. The result of the settlement discussion that took place is yet to be announced on September 10. The outcome of this trial will determine Rio Reiser's future and his reputation as one of Germany's most notorious criminals.
