"Replica of Mini Eiffel Tower Weighs 60 Tons: Elderly Man and His Grandson Construct Scale Model of iconic Parisian Landmark"
In the picturesque town of Sainte-Marie-Aux-Mines, nestled near the German border in Alsace, France, a miniature version of the iconic Eiffel Tower has emerged as a tourist attraction. Standing tall at 30 meters and weighing a hefty 60 tons, this smaller-scale replica is a labour of love that took eight years to complete.
The mastermind behind this impressive feat is none other than retired metalworker Jean-Claude Fassler, who devoted years of his life to this project. With meticulous attention to detail, Fassler handcrafted and tailored the mini Eiffel Tower to size, turning his lifelong dream into a reality.
Assisting Fassler in this monumental task was his grandson, Killian Antenat. Antenat, a modern-day expert in the field, brought essential know-how to the project, ensuring the mini Eiffel Tower was built with the precision and craftsmanship required to replicate the original Parisian landmark.
The assembly process was no easy task, requiring millimeter precision. All parts of the mini Eiffel Tower were meticulously manufactured and cut with a laser, a testament to the dedication and skill of the team. A giant crane placed the final part of the structure on the base, marking the completion of the assembly process.
The mini Eiffel Tower is a 1:10 scale replica of the original, boasting the original "Venedigrot" finish. This miniature marvel has become a tourist attraction in Alsace, drawing visitors from near and far to marvel at this incredible feat of engineering.
Fassler, however, does not rest on his laurels. He dreams of exhibiting his creation alongside the original in Paris and even harbours a personal goal of spending a night on the first floor of the mini Eiffel Tower.
The construction of the mini Eiffel Tower was made possible with the support of Fassler's grandson and the family business. Interestingly, the original design of the mini Eiffel Tower was by architect Maurice Koechlin, who, along with Gustave Eiffel, designed the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris.
This miniature masterpiece serves as a testament to the power of passion, skill, and dedication, inspiring all who behold it. As visitors flock to Sainte-Marie-Aux-Mines to catch a glimpse of this miniature marvel, they are reminded that dreams, no matter how big, can become a reality with hard work and determination.
