Report suggests Emmett Mosley, Texas wide receiver, could play in the game against Ohio St, yet may be restricted due to possible injury or previous condition.
The highly anticipated matchup between the Texas Longhorns and Ohio State Buckeyes is just around the corner, scheduled for this Saturday. However, a significant question mark hangs over the participation of sophomore transfer Emmett Mosley V.
Mosley, who transferred from Stanford in April, had a stellar freshman season, playing 48 passes, accumulating 525 yards, and scoring 6 touchdowns. But since his move to Texas, he has been dealing with a lower leg injury.
Coach Steve Sarkisian has been cautious with Mosley's ongoing injury, and it appears that he will not start in the game against Ohio State. Mosley is expected to play in a limited capacity, if at all, according to ESPN.
In Mosley's absence, redshirt freshman Parker Livingstone and true freshman Jaime Ffrench Jr. are expected to see more playing time. Livingstone has been taking first-team reps, as per CBS, while Ffrench Jr. is set to make his debut.
During the 2022 season, when Mosley was limited by a leg injury, the Texas Longhorns replaced him primarily with KJ Foster and other defensive backs to fill his role.
Emmett Mosley V is, however, expected to be available for the No. 1 Texas Longhorns' season opener against No. 3 Ohio State. Despite the injury, Coach Sarkisian confirmed that Mosley is in a good place regarding his leg injury.
The game, hosted by the Ohio State Buckeyes, promises to be an exciting clash between two powerhouse teams. With Mosley's status uncertain, the Longhorns will need to rely on their depth and versatility to secure a victory.
