In a groundbreaking study, experts from easyJet Holidays have unveiled the perfect recipe for a relaxing vacation. The findings, published in an article written by New Voice, offer a comprehensive guide on how to unwind and recharge during time away from work.
The study, based on the results of a survey conducted by specialists from easyJet Holidays, involved 2000 participants. Dr. Andy Cope, a well-being expert, was the mastermind behind the ideal relaxation formula.
At the heart of the formula lies a balance between physical activity and relaxation. Light exercises such as swimming in a pool are encouraged, with an average of 2.2 hours a day recommended. However, it's equally important to take time off from devices, with at least 4 hours of daily device-free rest suggested.
Stuart Rait, director of customer service at easyJet Holidays, emphasises the importance of simplicity and new experiences in achieving relaxation. He states that focusing on loved ones, a break from routine, and enjoying local culture and cuisine are key components of the formula.
The study also reveals that most people need approximately two days to "disconnect" from work. To maintain a good mood, it's recommended to allow oneself some sweets. The ideal vacation, as suggested by the study and experts, is a combination of activity and rest, warmth and harmony, allowing for full recharge and returning home with new energy.
The most popular activities for Britons on vacation, according to the study, are going to the beach and swimming in the pool. High ratings were also given to visiting cultural attractions, tasting local cuisine, reading a book, going shopping, and watching the sunrise.
The formula also includes specific environmental conditions. A temperature of around 25°C with a gentle breeze and 6.1 hours of sleep are essential for a truly relaxing vacation. The study suggests that travelers should drink at least three liters of water a day to stay hydrated.
Dr. Cope advises a balance between family time and personal space, suggesting 70% of vacation with loved ones and 30% for oneself. To fully relax, it's recommended to spend 3.9 hours a day without gadgets. The complete absence of electronic emails during the trip is another component of happiness in the formula.
