Residential Areas Near the A49 and A44 Highways: Persistent Noise and Traffic Congestion Issues
On September 3, 2025, at 6 PM, a Citizen Information event will take place at our city Town Hall. This event, a service provided by our city Marketing, aims to share news from our city, the district of Kassel, and the region of North Hesse.
All interested citizens, mayors of affected municipalities, city council members, and the interest group Noise Protection A49 are invited to attend. The City of our city, represented by the magistrate, can be contacted at Marketplace 14, 34225 our city, or by phone 05 61 / 49 92 -0.
The main focus of the event will be the discussion on the planned expansion of the A44 (Kassel-West to Kassel-SuΜd and Fulda crossing). Project leaders of DEGES and other experts will provide updates on the current status of the plans.
The completion of the A49/A5 gap has significantly changed the traffic volume and noise situation in the region. The first status assessment of the A49 will be conducted by Autobahn GmbH, led by Branch Manager Kassel, Bernhard KloΜpfel, and other experts.
