The Harburg Food Bank recently conducted two successful donation campaigns at the Phoenix Center and the Market Center in Harburg. The events were organised by the Ladies' Circle South Elbe, with the aim of collecting non-perishable food items for those in need.

According to Sabine Pena, chairwoman of the Harburg Food Bank, both actions were a great success. The community's willingness to donate was overwhelming, as evidenced by the large amounts of food and cash donations received.

At the Market Center, nearly 20 boxes with around 300 kg of food and some cash donations totaling 230 euros were collected. The action at the Phoenix Center was equally successful, yielding 15 boxes of food and 1300 euros in cash donations.

Six helpers from the Ladies' Circle South Elbe actively approached passersby and collected items such as pasta, rice, and canned goods. Anna Thobaben from Ladies' Circle South Elbe expressed her appreciation for the support received from the customers of the shopping centers.

Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference in the lives of those who rely on the food bank's support, according to Anna Thobaben. Wolfgang Naujoks from the Harburg Food Bank was present to support the Ladies' Circle South Elbe and emphasized that actions like these help the food bank support more people in need, as the number of those in need is increasing.

The total amount of cash donations from both actions amounts to 1530 euros. The combined weight of the food donations from both actions is approximately 330 kg.

Wolfgang Naujoks encourages the community to continue supporting the Harburg Food Bank, as they are still accepting donations. Interested individuals can find more information about the Harburg Food Bank on their website.
