Kamm Unveils New Restomod Touring Version of the Classic Porsche 912

Hungarian automotive company Kamm has announced the launch of a new restomod Touring version of the classic Porsche 912. The Kamm 912T, as it's called, promises to deliver a more relaxed, touring experience while maintaining the charm of a 1960s sports car.

The Kamm 912T is a meticulously crafted masterpiece. Each seat is handcrafted and tailored by Fusina for added comfort in the 912T. All original elements are replaced with brand new, factory parts. The transmission has been re-calibrated for a smoother shift, and a non-valved touring exhaust system has been added to provide a more relaxed feel.

Kamm's engineers, who have previously worked at Porsche Motorsport, Singer, and Koenigsegg, have worked extensively on the chassis, brakes, suspension, wheels, and tyres of the 912T. The result is a vehicle that weighs 860kg, 100kg lighter than the original 912, due to the in-house-manufactured carbon fiber bodywork.

The engineers have also focused on the "616" 4-cylinder engine, tailoring it to suit the new model's touring aspirations. The power output is 123kW/201Nm with a redline of 6500rpm, lower than the 912C.

The 912T offers a choice of wheels, including classic Fuchs 15-inch alloys and another 15in alloy style with a "steelies" look. The vehicle also features metal doors and glass windows for enhanced interior refinement.

The Kamm 912T will be built in strictly limited batches of five, starting next year. Prices for the Kamm 912T start at €245,000 (NZ$482,000) - excluding the donor car. In New Zealand, the 912T is priced at NZ$480,000, not including the donor car.

The Kamm 912T is a testament to Kamm's commitment to preserving the essence of the classic 912 while incorporating sensitive updates. It's a vehicle that promises to provide a unique blend of modern comfort and classic charm.

Kamm was founded by Miklós Kázmér in Budapest, Hungary, and the company focuses solely on the 912 sports car produced between 1965-1969. With the launch of the 912T, Kamm continues to push the boundaries of what a restomod can be.
