Revealed: New Host Taking Over MasterChef: The Professionals from Gregg Wallace

Matt Tebbutt, a well-known face in the world of food broadcasting, has been welcomed on board for the next series of MasterChef: The Professionals. The news was announced by David Ambler, the executive editor of the show.

Tebbutt, 51, is best known for hosting BBC One's Saturday Kitchen. His career as a chef, restaurateur, and food broadcaster makes him an ideal choice for the judging line-up of MasterChef: The Professionals. He will be joining chefs Marcus Wareing, 55, and Monica Galetti, 50, for the 18th series of the popular cooking competition.

Wareing and Galetti are excited about Tebbutt joining the MasterChef: The Professionals judging panel. Wareing described Tebbutt as "a fantastic addition to the team," while Galetti expressed her excitement, saying, "I'm thrilled to have Matt on board. He's a titan of the food world, and I can't wait to see what he brings to the table."

Tebbutt, in turn, is looking forward to working with Wareing and Galetti. He expressed his admiration for the two chefs, saying, "I've always looked up to Marcus and Monica. They are true titans of the food world, and I'm honoured to be working with them."

The series of MasterChef: The Professionals will showcase and celebrate the best up-and-coming talent emerging from professional kitchens in the UK. A range of guest judges will appear in the first stage of the competition.

The series will air on BBC One and iPlayer, with a transmission date yet to be confirmed. The most recent series of MasterChef: The Professionals, which featured Gregg Wallace, continued to air last year amid allegations against him.

Gregg Wallace was sacked following a series of misconduct allegations relating to his time on MasterChef. An investigation upheld 45 out of 83 allegations against Wallace. In response, Wallace issued an apology for any distress caused and admitted that he never set out to harm or humiliate.

Two MasterChef celebrity Christmas specials were pulled from the BBC's schedule in December 2024 due to the allegations against Wallace. Gregg Wallace was replaced as a judge on MasterChef: The Professionals by Anna Haugh and Grace Dent in the following season.

The judges will be expecting high standards from the chefs this year. As Tebbutt steps into the role left by Wallace, he will undoubtedly bring his own unique perspective and expertise to the judging table.

Stay tuned for more updates on MasterChef: The Professionals as we await the transmission date for the 18th series.
