Review of the Alienware AW2725D QD-OLED QHD Monitor: Vibrant colors, impressive performance, and excellent affordability in high-performance gaming display

The AW2725D OLED gaming monitor is making waves in the world of high dynamic range (HDR) technology, offering a unique blend of vivid color and deep contrast.

This monitor stands out among its competitors, particularly QD-OLEDs, by covering a wider color gamut. With 90% red, 80% green, and an impressive 95% blue, the AW2725D provides a level of color accuracy that is hard to match.

One of the key advantages of the AW2725D is its HDR quality. OLED technology, which the AW2725D employs, offers infinite contrast and perfect black levels, making it ideal for HDR content.

The brightness of the AW2725D can be adjusted, with a measured 25% window at 265 nits. However, when pushed to its limits, the monitor can reach a peak brightness of 460 nits, making it the brightest among the monitors in its class.

While grayscale on the AW2725D runs slightly green above the tone-map transition of 65%, this does not have a significant impact on the overall viewing experience. The six primary colors on the monitor show solid hue tracking, with no visible issues in content.

The AW2725D is VESA DisplayHDR 400 rated, and its performance in HDR Peak 1000 mode is solid. In this mode, the monitor performs well in terms of grayscale, EOTF, and color, delivering high saturation and a vivid picture.

The Calman software, used in the HDR benchmarking of the AW2725D, is developed by Portrait Displays, Inc., a company specializing in advanced color calibration software solutions.

The AW2725D also offers six HDR picture modes, providing extra flexibility to users. Each mode can be tailored to suit different viewing conditions, ensuring an optimal experience for various types of content.

In conclusion, the AW2725D is a superb display for HDR content. Its vibrant color and deep contrast make it a standout choice among QD-OLEDs, offering a viewing experience that is hard to beat.
