roller coaster record pursuit persists despite Storm Floris disruption

In a unique and thrilling adventure, 36-year-old Dean Stokes embarked on a mission to ride every roller coaster in the UK in less than two weeks. Accompanied by his friend and former colleague, Simon Fasolo, aged 44, the duo has been visiting 32 theme parks across the country, aiming to conquer 120 roller coasters in just 16 days.

The journey, which has been meticulously documented on social media, has garnered significant support from fellow thrill-seekers and ride operators. One such encounter took place at Flamingo Park in Hastings, East Sussex, where a ride operator recognised Mr. Stokes from his social media videos. Another follower named Jack and his family joined Mr. Stokes for the first ride at Flamingo Park, originally planning to visit a different theme park but deciding to join the challenge instead.

However, the journey has not been without its challenges. Storm Floris caused several theme parks to close, disrupting the schedule. Despite these setbacks, the spirit of the challenge remains undeterred. Guinness World Records has even contacted Mr. Stokes about the possibility of setting a new record.

Mr. Stokes, who previously worked for Google for five years before leaving to set up his own technology training business, maintains that being confident to pursue one's passions is important. He encourages people to follow their passions and not worry about what others think.

The challenge is more than just a personal accomplishment for Mr. Stokes. His main motivation is to encourage people to do more of what they love. He often live streams his adventures on TikTok, inspiring others to embark on their own thrilling journeys.

As the end of the challenge approaches, Mr. Stokes is planning to ride his last roller coaster at Thorpe Park with a group of supporters. Despite the challenges faced, the spirit of adventure and the pursuit of passion remain at the heart of this remarkable journey.
