Fabian Schleusener Stays Put as Rondic's Transfer to Karlsruher SC Falls Through

In a twist of events, the potential transfer of striker Fabian Schleusener from Karlsruher SC (KSC) to Ulm did not materialize, potentially preventing Schleusener from moving to Ulm as well.

The saga began when Imad Rondic, a footballer who had signed a contract until 2029 with 1. FC KΓΆln last year, was set to join KSC on loan. However, the clubs could not agree on a loan agreement due to Rondic's insistence on his full entitlements. As a result, Rondic turned back from his journey to Karlsruhe on Monday.

With Rondic's transfer to KSC seemingly impossible, Schleusener found himself in a difficult position. He had to weigh the opportunity presented by Ulm against his current contract at KSC. Schleusener was aware of the interim status of the Rondic situation, as he was in Ulm on Monday.

Ulm had offered Schleusener a long-term and valued contract, extending to 2029. The offer provided him with security beyond the year, a factor he considered carefully. However, Schleusener ultimately decided to stay with KSC, a decision he seems content with. He is fit and ready to continue giving his best for KSC, and is not sad about the missed opportunity with Ulm.

Louey Ben Farhat's metatarsal fracture in the game against Braunschweig has forced KSC to be cautious, making the need for a replacement for Schleusener even more pressing. Despite this, Schleusener's decision to stay has provided KSC with a reliable striker option.

Timon Pauls, sporting director of KSC, was known to be fair and communicative during negotiations with Rondic's agent. The mediator in the transfer negotiations demanded clear assurances on playing time and professional development opportunities for Rondic.

Laurent Burkart, CEO of player agency B360, contradicted the impression that the loan deal fell through due to additional demands from Rondic. He stated that the deal could not be completed due to the second division club's unwillingness to pay a supposedly small remaining difference as a fixed amount.

In the Polish Ekstraklasa, Rondic was transferred on loan to Rakow Czestochowa on Tuesday evening. Despite the missed opportunity, both Schleusener and KSC can move forward, focusing on the upcoming games and the potential for further opportunities in the future.
