Royal couple, William and Kate, express solidarity - Royal couple, William and Kate publicly demonstrate their backing
The royal family is currently navigating a challenging time following the death of The Duchess of Kent, Katharine, who passed away on September 5 at Kensington Palace. She was 92 years old, making her the oldest member of the royal family after the Queen's passing.
The Duchess, who was married to Edward (89), the Duke of Kent, a cousin of Elizabeth II, dedicated herself to supporting others and many good causes, notably through her love of music. She had three children.
Prince William and Duchess Kate have resumed their official duties, with William visiting the English city of Exeter on Saturday to support Wales at the Women's Rugby World Cup against Fiji. Kate was expected at the match between England and Australia at the Brighton & Hove Albion stadium.
In a personal message, they expressed their condolences to the Duke of Kent and his family, specifically mentioning The Duchess's children, George, Helen, and Nicholas.
William, who is the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, was seen chatting with Alan Gilpin, the CEO of World Rugby, before the match at the Sandy Park stadium. Kate recently returned to her official duties after a summer break, and she debuted longer, lighter hair at their first public engagement in the newly redesigned outdoor area of the Natural History Museum in London on September 4.
The Duchess of Kent will be greatly missed. Her support for various causes and her love for music touched many lives. The Women's Rugby World Cup, being held in England, is a testament to her continued legacy.
Princess Kate, as the patron of the English Rugby Football Union (RFU), and Prince William, who often supports the team from the stands, carry on their roles in honour of The Duchess of Kent's memory.
